10 Dividend Growth Stocks for July 2015

Includes: ADM • CNQ • CNS • GPS • JNJ • MIC • OGE • QCOM • RS • TRV • TXN • VLO • VZ

Every month I rank a selection of David Fish's CCC list to identify suitable dividend growth stocks for further analysis. The list contains all U.S.-listed stocks that have raised their dividends for at least 5 consecutive years. It is a wonderful resource worth checking out! The latest list (dated 6/30/15) contains 726 stocks.

Ranking so many stocks would be a daunting task. To simplify things, I apply a series of filters to reduce the list to a more manageable number of stocks. I assign a star-rating to each stock out of a maximum 7 stars. The rating is based on the dividend discount model and fundamental analysis.

I have an ongoing goal of balancing my DivGro portfolio across all 10 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) sectors, so I'm careful to retain a minimum number of stocks per sector. Later I present the 10 sector winners.

To see the top 10 stocks by rank and the 10 sector winners, please read this article at Seeking Alpha.

  1. Some very interesting names, DivGro. Thanks for sharing.

Only two present in my portfolio from your 10 GICS winners - ADM and QCOM (which I just picked up yesterday again).

    1. Those are solid stocks -- I'm waiting for ADM to trade lower (it could be a long wait!). Like you, I own QCOM and I might just pick up more shares...

Thanks for commenting and take care!

  2. Great list of stocks to consider. Thanks for compiling this list. I do like ADM and now that CB was bought by ACE I have been considering adding TRV as an insurance replacement. I'm still liking the Canadian banks on their recent drop for July as well as other names.

    1. You're welcome, DivHut! Like I said, I like ADM but I'm waiting for a lower entry price. I own both ACE and TRV in DivGro -- I like insurers... Some Canadian (and other non-US) stocks have been dropped from the CCC list (my main data source) due to the strength of the dollar, which is too bad. I think there are several strong Canadian dividend payers worth considering!
