Welcome to the APRIL edition of my DivGro 2.0 newsletter!
April has been a tumultuous month, kicked off by the Trump Administration's "liberation day" tariff announcements. The ensuing market reaction was furious, with stock indices falling by more than ten percent and wiping out over $6 trillion in market capitalization in just two days.
I'll write more about the impact of April's market chaos on my portfolio in next month's newsletter. In this edition, I'll focus on the actions I took in March to prepare for converting our IRAs to Roth IRAs later this year.
Welcome to the MARCH edition of my DivGro 2.0 newsletter!
As usual, I provide a quick market recap and an overview of my DivGro portfolio (as of 28 February 2025).
In February, I opened eleven new positions and closed twelve existing positions, so DivGro now contains 89 positions. Of these, 71 are dividend growth [DG] stocks, seven are closed-end funds, and two are dividend-paying stocks. By convention, only stocks with five-year or longer dividend increase streaks are considered DG stocks.
Welcome to the FEBRUARY edition of my DivGro 2.0 newsletter!
Once again, this edition is a shortened version of the usual format to ensure continuity. I'm publishing it in the nick of time, as February only has 28 days in non-leap years!
In January, I reopened a position in Hormel Foods (HRL) and added shares to NIKE (NKE) due to options assignments. Additionally, I opened ten small positions in growth stocks, continuing last year's theme of increasing DivGro's total return prospects.
DivGro now contains 90 positions.
