18 Dividend Increases, April 13-24, 2015

Includes: CSX • ENLC • GLP • HEP • HFWA • JNJ • KMI • LAZ • LHO • MWE • NGLS • PFG • PG • SO • SPG • SSW • TRGP • TRV

I monitor dividend increases for stocks on my watch list to identify candidates for further analysis and for possible inclusion in DivGro, my portfolio of dividend growth stocks. Companies that regularly increase their dividends show confidence in future earnings growth potential.

Another reason I monitor dividend increases is that I track the yield on cost (YoC) of stocks in my portfolio. When dividends increase, I make YoC adjustments and update DivGro's projected annual dividend income, a measure of the incom e potential of the portfolio over the next 12 months.

In the past two weeks, 18 of the companies on my watch list announced dividend increases. Increases vary from 20% to as low as 1%.

Please see this Seeking Alpha article for details.

  1. Thanks for the updates, DivGro. I just started dividend growth investing about a month ago and I already have two pay raises (JNJ & AAPL). Very exciting!!

    1. Welcome to the dividend growth investing club! Those are 2 great companies to own -- I hold shares of JNJ in my DivGro portfolio, and AAPL in another portfolio (in which I write call and put options).

Good luck with your new adventure and visit again soon!

  2. Thanks for the updates. Of the 18, I only own 2! JNJ and KMI. Looks like I have many more companies to consider in the future...CSX is near the top of that list.

    1. Likewise, I only own 2, JNJ and TRV. KMI and CSX certainly look interesting. I'll have to check in on them soon! Take care...

  4. 18 increases is pretty awesome. I had 5 hit my account this April, and 5 more announced. I love it, best raises you get for the amount of work you put towards it.
